The religious activities of the Bay Area Youth Vaishnav Parivar have been proceeding long before the organization was formally established.
For over 9 years the Parivar members have been congregating to celebrate, maintain and invigorate the Utsavas and festivals of our ancient but pertinent Hindu traditions. The focus of such gatherings has been inspired by the teachings of the great Vallabhacharyaji derived from the life and teachings of Lord Shri Krishna.
In that respect, bimonthly meetings (Ekadashi Satsang) are undertaken – rotating around the Bay Area in the houses of devotees. Furthermore, monthly meetings (Satsang) are performed with an emphasis on passing on this great tradition to the American born youth.
Besides these regular meetings, the BAYVP also arranges Utsavs to celebrate the life and teachings of Lord Krishna and Mahaprabhuji – such as annual New Years Annakut program, Janmasthmi program and Mahaprabhuji Pragatutsav.
Over the past several years we have also organized religious sermons (Saptah) including Bhagvat Saptah, Dashma Skandha Saptah as well as occasional discourses from invited priests from India .
Our religious activities are the mainstay of our organization as the BAYVP hopes to continue to pass the moral teachings and values as elucidated by the life and teachings of Lord Krishna onto the future generation of Indians as well as interested Americans.
Through such activities it is hoped that we as well as the future generation will be eternally happy by living a moral, spiritual, selfless, successful and dharmic life. The goal of such an activity is the upliftment of self and society.
